Steve Kerr is about to become the Suns' GM. Michael is part-owner of an NBA franchise. Pax is doing a great job -- and the Bulls are a decent team again. And Jerry Krause is a distant memory. All is forgiven (except for the fact that Krause screwed greedy Bulls fans like me out of at least one, maybe two, NBA Championships).
Michael gives an extended interview to the Chicago Tribune. The highlights: Michael thinks LeBron is ready to make "The Leap." He says he's cool with Juanita. He's happy son Jeffrey is going to Illinois, not UNC. Marcus is transferring from Loyola Academy to Chicago Public League power Whitney Young High. Michael also does a decent job spinning yet-another non-sensical Scottie Pippen quote, this one directed at Michael.
Michael on Scottie Pippen's comments that teams would rather have a 'Scottie' than a 'Michael':
There's some truth to that. The one thing I'm never going to do is demean or diminish is the importance of Scottie Pippen as a wingman, or as my teammate. Everybody needs, I think, a Scottie Pippen. Most of the successful teams are going to need a Michael Jordan. It's hard to say one without the other. Can you win with one and not the other? I don't know.
A google search shows that Pip is the only member of the NBA's 50 Greatest ever referred to as a wingman (not that there's anything wrong with that). Go Goose.
